Mr.Benn - timeless classic (Mr Benn)
Member Name: TraceyJayne
Advantages: suitable for young children, good stories, lots of different settings Disadvantages: none Mr.Benn is part of my childhood. I have recently got a dvd which includes all the episodes ever made. Pure t.v. heaven I should say. I use the dvd at the Infant school where I work and good old Mr. Benn hasn't lost any of his charm, the children love him today as much as I did all those years ago. So, who is Mr. Benn. Well, I guess he is quite difficult to describe really. He wears a suit and a bowler hat and carrys an umbrella. He looks like he works in the city, as a Bank Manager perhaps. In every episode he goes to the same fancy dress/costume hire shop. (I never knew why). He chooses an outfit and goes into the changing room. When he comes out of the changing room, wearing the new outfit, he is no longer in the shop but in a setting appropriate to the costume that he is wearing. He then has an adventure, before returning to the shop. He changes back into his own clothes and goes home. Very enjoyable. East to follow, lots of differents stories. Summary: Classic programme, never dates, enjoyable to watch over and over |
