Advantages: good scripts, very funny

Disadvantages: can be a bit repetitive

My Family has beem around since 2000 and I still find it as funny as ever! It foucuses around the lives of the Harper family who live in Chiswick, London. In the various episodes there is always trouble for Ben, the head of the Harper household, usually caused by one of his three grown up children; Nick, Janey and Michael, or Roger the annoying dentist, the lodger Alfie, Ben's cousin Abi or his lovely wife Susan.

**Characters**

Ben Harper
Ben is the husband of Susan. He is known for being a bit miserable and quite often, very stingy with his cash! For example, in the latest Christmas special, Ben finds it very hard to get Susan a suitable gift. So when Susan hints at a necklace, he reluctantly parts with some of his 'hard earned' cash. Later, realising the necklace is now half price, he returns it to the shop and trys to buy it back for half the price! He often complains about his life, especially his wife and kids but is secretly a loving family man. He works as a dentist.

Susan Harper
Susan is Ben's wife. She is the character that holds the Harper family together. She often trys to tell Ben what she wants from him, be it as a husband or just things in general but very rarely gets what she imagines. She gets extremely frustrated with Ben's antics but is still utterly devoted to him and their three children. She often has to pick up the pieces after Ben messes something up or one of her grown up kids causes trouble!

Nick Harper
Nick isn't in the show anymore as he has finally got a place of his own. He is always trying to think up new money making schemes, usually resulting in him ending up in trouble with someone or injuring himself! he is quite a childlike character. In recent years Nick has been almost replaced by his guitar playing, hippy friend, Alfie.

Janey Harper
Janey is the only daughter of Susan and Ben and the second eldest child. She also now has a son of her own, Kenzo. Ben trys not to show it but he is very over protective of Janey. She is quite fashionable and usually has the guys falling at her feet. She is quite mischevious in the way she sometimes tricks Ben and Susan.

Michael Harper
Michael is the youngest child of Susan and Ben. He is portrayed as quite a geeky character but also highly intelligent and more often than not, he outwitts Susan, Ben and his siblings! In some of the more recent episodes he is shown as less of a geeky character, although his laptop still seems like an extension of his arm!

Roger Bailey
Roger is a dentist and he works in the same building as Ben, much to Ben's annoyment! Roger is a very bubbly, excitable character. He is very easily amused and gets pleasure from the simplest things in life. He annoys every single member of the Harper family although he seems completely oblivious to this fact! In later episodes, Roger gets into a relationship with Abi, his perfect partner!

Abi Bailey
Abi is Ben's second cousin. She is ditzy, bubbly, energetic, and very over enthusiastic about everything. She is now married to Roger the dentist and together they make te perfect nausiating lovey-dovey couple! Abi, much like Roger, enrages Ben. But to Susan, she is like another daughter. Michael, in younger years, had a slight crush on Abi.

Alfie Butts
Alfie is Nick's friend from University who is now lodging with the Harper's. He is a very kind-hearted, loveable, if not a bit slow, character. Alfie is very rarely seen without his beloved guitar in his hand. He is welsh and is very loyal to his roots, he loves anything to do with Wales. Alfie, like Abi has become part of the family.
