My Family is a brilliant BBC sitcom. One that refrains from all the usual smut and bad language which is so common place.

With this show, you just get an inoffensive well written half an hour of quality TV. The situations are great, the lines are funny. OK, One could argue that the characters are one dimensional, but they have to be. You always need 'the stupid one' and 'an awquard one' for the comedy to work.

I can also see why people think it's unimaginative. It's a family in a house, it's been done so many times before right? Well yes, but the script is the important thing and in this cast it's great.

And it doesn't use canned laughter, trust me. I was in the audience and it's certainly arround 250 real people. As with all sitcoms, there are loads of re-takes and laughing at a scene you saw 40 seconds ago isn't easy so it's a more put on laugh.
