My Name Is Earl is a TV show that has been brought over to the UK from America and is shown on Channel 4 and E4. The storyline of it is all about Earl Hickey (Jason Lee) and his brother Randy (Ethan Suplee). After years of doing wrong by living as petty crooks Earl wins the lottery! However, just as the joy of winning was setting in he was hit by a car and lost his winning ticket. Through the magic of TV, Carson Daly told him about karma and from that moment Earl made a list of all the things he had done wrong throughout his life. He thought that if he corrected these wrongs that karma would forgive him and he would get his ticket back. He was right...

Each week Earl finds something different to do on his list and the show follows his attempts to right the wrong that he caused. He is assisted by Randy, who tries hard but isn't really very smart which leads to some silly but funny moments. The other main characters are Earls ex-wife Joy (Jamie Pressley), who left him after having an affair with Darnell (Hey Crab Man) which led to Earl having 1 white and 1 black son. Despite the clear reasons why they may not get along, Earl and Crab Man become good friends and he plays a big role in a lot of Earl's quests. Catalina (Nadine Velazquez ) is the other regular character. She smuggled herself into the country and now works as a dancer at Club Chubbys.

The whole programme is easy to start watching. Even if you miss an episode or 2 you won't take long to find out what happened. It isn't very serious and always will give you at least a few laughs each time its on. The residents of the town who pop up from time to time are also funny and their situations will have you laughing over and over.

Its on E4 on a Thursday at 9pm or you can watch it on E4's website so I'd recommend giving it try if you want a good laugh!
