This is an MTV show based on the exploits of spoilt American kids on their 16th birthdays. The poor parents of these spoilt children are blackmailed with pleads, yelling and temper tantrums galore so that these kids get everything they want and none of reality they need. The show goes through in the planning stages. We see the extravagant invites, delivered in all sorts of unusual ways with exotic animals or circus people. My Super Sweet 16 is one of MTV's reality shows that they often show in the late afternoon when teenagers get home from school and college. It goes in tandem with other reality shows involving young people they produce such as Made, Date My Mom and Room Raiders. My Super Sweet 16 was launched in 2005 and sixty one episodes have aired since this time. So, my super sweet 16 is a show where spoilt kids have an unlimited budget to throw a birthday party. Some of them get singers to perform etc and they basically run around like little children until they get exactly what they want. I watch My Super Sweet 16, Not because I really love the show or the concept of it but because it's entertaining to watch these teenagers act like spoilt little brats and I actually enjoy getting wound up at how horrible they are. Where to start with this programme?! Right here we go ... this is a typical American TV show full of spoilt American kids, and when I say spoilt we are not talking about getting a computer game when they ask for it, we are talking about kids getting cars and $5,000 bags as a casual gift. The programme follows the life of a child ready to embark upon their 16th year. There is no real structure to the show as all you really see is the kid with a credit card buying extravagant gifts for themselves.
