I knew only a brief outline of what had happened and was interested to discover more. I expected to feel emotional, but the programme touched me even deeper than I had thought it would. National Disaster is an ITV documentary series on Wednesday nights from 10:35pm. (No edition on April 11th, due to the Pride of Britain awards being shown.) Each hour-long programme focuses on one famous news story which is a national tragedy.
