When the national lottery came out I was spurred on by the media frenzy and spent a couple of quid a week trying to win a million pounds. But after four or five weeks and not winning anything, raising you’re hopes before hand only to have them dashed each week I stopped.

It’ll never you who will win, you might know someone if you’re lucky but it will be someone you have never heard of, someone insignificant week in week out. The chances of winning or slim you might as well have a bet on the horse. I know you have to be ‘in it to win it’ but tell what’s the point it’ll never be you’re turn. Its funny how the numbers seem so easy when they come out, when you pick the numbers in the 40’s it’s in the 20’s, so close yet so far.

The national lottery is for dreamers, who think they can get rich quick, no one ever can otherwise we would all have. It’s a legal scam, a bit of fun to think you’ve got a chance or that’ it could be you’ but trust me you’ll never win.

The popularity of the National Lottery as gone down, the jackpot is lower than when it first started out and the Wednesday draw is even lower. The only good think about the National Lottery is that charities, the arts and sports have all been funded by the money generated. The Lottery money given to the British Athletics team helped them enormously in the recent Olympic games.

At the moment the license to whom takes over the National Lottery is up with Virgin tycoon Richard Branson looking likely to win the race. He has pledged to make no money from it, but I suppose the free advertising will do his companies no harm what so ever.

The National Lottery show last for about twenty odd minutes on Saturday, hosted by Dale Winton who usually has a celebrity to perform before drawing the numbers, I never watch it unless I have bought a ticket which is very rarely.

I suppose it could be you one day, but very unlikely so save your pounds and spend it somewhere else.
