NCIS - Naval Criminal Investigative Service

Yet another US crime drama but this one is entirely staffed by US naval personnel with the odd Mossaad not so secret agent thrown in. As plot lines go they're usually very well written if a little on the gory side for an 8pm showing. I certainly wouldn't allow my offspring to watch a programme where dead naked women hang from trees with hearts carved in their backs or where body parts are FedExed to peoples houses in vats of acid. I originally got into this when flicking through channels ages ago, it was about halfway through the first season and I was hooked. For those of you who don't know NCIS is an agency in the US that is basically the FBI for the US Navy. They are a federal agency whose primary role is to investigate crimes connected to the Navy and protect its assets. NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Its not CSI lol! The sereis has been running since 2003 and is a spin off of JAG. Quite a popular show in America but one that has never really kicked of here in the UK. The main characters are what makes NCIS such a cracking Tv show. NCIS is an American crime thriller series based around its title, which is an acronym for Naval Criminal Intelligence Service. It is similar to CSI in that it features a regular team of investigators dealing with crimes. The difference here is that the crimes are pertaining to the Navy. The show was created following a 2 episode stint in relation to the popular series JAG. NCIS: Not your average crime show I have to admit, when I first saw the adverts for NCIS I was apprehensive. A crime show about the American navy? How long would it be until they ran out of ideas? I thought it would last one season, one very boring season investigating Naby personnel that committed bad crimes, with half the results being "psychological trauma from combat situations".
