Advantages: Laughs a plenty.
Disadvantages: Its not on often enough.
Never mind the Buzzcocks is a quiz panel show that is on BBC2 and repeated on Dave. It is predominantly made around music quizzes, but it is designed to be, and very successfully is so, a comedy show.
The show is half an hour long (if that) and is hosted by Simon Amstell. He is relatively young and as far as I was concerned, unknown when I first came to watch him on the show. There are two teams on the show, each containing three members, including long term captains Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey. The other four members are guest celebrities. If one of the team captains are away Noel Fielding (I think that is his last name) replaces thema nd he is soooo funny. I actually prefer him to the usual captains.
The game consists of each team answering music questions, whilst trying to create the most laughs. For me the show highlight is Simon Amstell the host, he is so amazingly quick and I have never seen anyone with a sense of humour like his. It is him that makes me watch this.
The games carried out on the show vary hugely. One is guess the person where they show a really old music video and then have one of the stars in a line up and you have to try and tell them apart from 4 other people.
The guests ont he show are normally popular and often from modern culture. Who can forget the episode with Preston in? Watch it on youtube...
Summary: Hilarious...just dont be easily offended.
