Advantages: Jessica is funny with her ditzyness
Disadvantages: Wouldnt say there were any!
'Newlyweds' was a hit Tv show on mtv, following the lives of pop starlet Jessica Simpson and her '98 degrees hunk nick lachey' In the first few years of marriage, the show ran for 3 seasons, showing them at home, in the studio, on vacation and just them living there normal lifes!
Jessica had a record deal from the age of 14 and nick was in a boyband called 98 degrees. They were together for 3 years then split up for 5 months then started dating again and got engaged in 2002 then unfortantly devorced in 2006.
The first season had 10 episodes, which i loved and even though they've split up now, i still watch the episodes, as i just fine jessica so funny with her ditziness!
The Episodes!
1. Chicken by the Sea!
This episode introduces us to there newly married life and lets us watch as they get settled into there new home together!
In this episode you will see jessica getting used to doing her own washing and laundry, as all her life shes had people pick up after her, jessica describes nick as perfectionist and someone who is always cleaning and learned to do it from a younge age!
Also in the episode jessica and nick get something to eat together and as jessicas eating she ask's nick ''is this chicken what i have or is it fish, i know its tuna but it says chicken'' Refereing to the brand name being chicken of the sea! Nick is just dissapointed that jess, doesnt even though the difference between between chick and tuna and explains because the brand name is CHICKEN OF THE SEA because alot of people eat tuna like alot of people eat chicken!
2: The Dancers
This episode sees Nick trying to launch his solo career and shows the creation of his video where he has to audition some dancers for his music video. Jessica gets jealous at the thought of semi naked women dancing around his husband and decided to drop in to keep an eye on Nick. After witnessing some of the dancers she decides that she wants to purchase some sexy underwear for her husband and pops into a lingerie store and buys 2 bras and 2 pairs of knickers for over $700 dollars, she then calls Nick to tell him of this drastic overspend.
Watch them perform for the troops and see Jessicas jealousy reach a high
3:Camping
In this episode, nick decides to go on a camping trip with his brother drew and his wife leah and drags jessica with him even though she isnt very fond of it! Watch as they head off to the mountains for some back to basics camping, listen to the girls whinge about the lack of luxuries and laugh at the guys teasing the girls throughout the trip.
4:Golfing
Again we witness Jessicas jealousy in this episode where Nick is scheduled to attend a party at Playboy Mansion, as Jessica is very clearly unhappy about him attending the party Nick tries his best to get out of the event, although after a converstion with his PA he is advised to attend the party, so he enlists the help of his brother Drew to keep him under control, very funny as you watch Jessica struggle to get her own way! Nick tries to get back in Jess's good books by arranging a golfing day for the two couples and watching ditzy jess learning to golf is definately amusing.
5: The platypuss
This is the episode where we see jessica record her single sweetest sin about making love to her husband for the first time, as the record company dont approve of how jessica sings they song, (sings it too challenging) she has to re record the song! This is where we see an emotional side of jessica! Nick however is having arguments with his record company over which song to release. They decided to take a break and travel to Cincinnati as Nick and his brother Drew are singing at his grandma's wedding at the Twin Towers Convention centre, watch the rehersals and Nick forget the words to his song, and Jess and Lea are amused watching.
6:Buffalo Wings
This episode sees Jess all confused when she states that she doesnt eat buffalo and doesnt realise that buffalo wings are actually made from chicken. As jess leaves town to sing at a 4th July event, Nick stays at home to go clubbing with his friends, Jess finds out and is not too impressed when she doesnt get much chance to speak to him. Nick decides to make it up to her by planning a trip to the Bahamas to relax which goes down really well with Sunbathing and Drinks at the beach.
7: Newlyweds Decorate
This espisode should be renamed Nick decorates as Jess moans about the condition of the house and asks Nick to employ a designer to get their house completed. Nick decides to complete this task himself with the help of his brother so Jess leaves town to do a book signing when she returns all the hard work that Nick has done to the house is undone as she picks at everything.
8:The Video Shoot
Both Nick and Jess are busy shooting their videos for their new singles, Nick is less than happy with his 80's style video as it looks cheap and as Jess tries to point out the good bits Nick does not appear impressed. Jess's video however is completely different as it is filmed under a waterfall, the weather is not the hottest though and Jess is left shivering as they constantly reshoot, however once they get the finished results Nick is left realising that he needs to invest a great deal more money on his video to prevent his solo career from sinking before its even began
9:Jessica's Birthday
As Jess turns 23 the theme is decided for her birthday dinner of the Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland which results in lots of drinking and dancing.
Nick however is obsessed with the bee hive that is located in the back of the garden and sets out to rid of the bee hive with a local visit to the diy store, Jess again picks at the products Nick buys and leaves him too it as she decides to take a workout, this episode is gross as you see Nick eat part of the beehive that he has now destroyed.
10:Season Finale
Nick is fed up of the take-aways and convinces Jess to cook for him but after a days shopping, manicure/pedicure she arrives home at 9pm with the groceries, she now does not have enough time to prepare a meal as they are going out to watch a movie so jess agrees to cook the following day, which is a success.
Meanwhile Nick is preparing a romantic retreat for 2 days including a romantic evening cruise, hot air balloon ride and a trip to the races, Jess has no idea as Nick has her under the impression that they are off to Mexico but he finds himself admitting to part of the suprise when Jess can't find her passport!!
Newlyweds is abosolutly a must watch if you liked to see whats going on in celebs lifes! Jessica is hilarious in this and im so addicted!
Summary: Just a great tv show!
