Advantages: Great for kids, easy to understand, educational

Disadvantages: None that I can think of

When growing up, I didn't really watch many adult news programmes, because it was sometimes hard to understand what was being talked about. I always used to watch one news programme however, Newsround.

Newsround is a long running news programme, aimed completely at children. It explains all of the main news stories in a way that children can easily understand.

When I first watched Newsround, it was presented by John Craven. He was a master at presenting this programme in my opinion, coming across as a very friendly person that could be trusted.

Not all of the news stories were what you would usually see in the adult news. Some were stories that affected children, or that children would find interesting. For example, things about maths, science or history or even school dinners. Wildlife and animals were heavily covered too.

It's testament to this programme that it is still running strong even today, still being shown in roughly the same timeslot it has always had, around 5pm.
