When growing up, I didn't really watch many adult news programmes, because it was sometimes hard to understand what was being talked about. I always used to watch one news programme however, Newsround. Newsround is a long running news programme, aimed completely at children. It explains all of the main news stories in a way that ... Newsround is a news programme with a difference in that it is for kids. It has been running for many years now, and used to be presented by John Craven. In fact, it used to be entitled John Craven's Newsround, before he left the programme, and now presents Countryfile instead. Newsround differs in that it tells news stories with a ... Newsround is a kids TV new program that is shown in the morning and the evening at around 5.25pm. It features news stories and features that kids will find interesting. There are no boring stories or features about rises in mortgages that go on for ten minutes. It is simply a five minute long glimpse of what is happening to people in the UK ... Though this is ment to be a childrens programme, I find it more interesting and easier to understand than the adults news shows like 'the ten o'clock news' etc. as they look at it through a childs eyes and explain so someone younger can understand. The show still includes all the main important headlines and sports news and ... Read the complete review

Newsround is just excellent directed at kids it’s the only news bulletin the kids want to watch. I can remember as a child my Dad used to watch the news quite a lot, and it was so boring. The only news that was something worth shouting about was Newsround, which then used to come on at 5.00pm. Just before Blue Peters the presenters were ... Read the complete review

This show was good from the word go. I remember watching it when it was John Craven's Newsround, but over the years, it has been modernised and made more interactive, but that makes it even better for children to take notice and follow whats happening in the world today. Newsround is a very down to earth children's show and ... Read the complete review

I never liked Newsround as a child and that remains the case up to prestent day. It has never focused on the most important stories in the news and it often ignores big issues to focus on ones which only effect children. I recognise that telling the news to children is a hard job simply becuase the vast majority find it boring and don't want ... Read the complete review

This is a programme which should be made compulsary in every household, regardless to whether the house contains children or not!! Since my brain cells have been frazzled by children I do not have time nor do i understand "grown up" news, I watch this every day during the week and i am aware of the current news affairs and whatever ... This excellent idea was created in the 70's and was hosted by the versitile John Craven for most of it's broadcasting history. Today's presenters may not have the hold over Newsround like Craven did but the principal of an understandable news service for children is carried on. The news items are frank and honest but spare children ... Read the complete review

I only occasionally watch Newsround nowadays as I have outgrown it a little. However, I used to watch it every day, it's always on live at 5PM for 10 minutes. The show is presented in a colourful, easy-to-understand way and quickly wraps up the day's main news headlines, and the smaller ones in "Newswrap" or whatever they call ... Read the complete review

Newsround is one of the best Children’s news programmes, actually I can’t think of any other news programme that is directed at kids! Contrary to popular belief children are interested in the world in which we live, but the ‘adult’ news programmes can often be too difficult for them to process, especially when politics and ...
