Advantages: real life....but faked!
Disadvantages: Nick is still there
I have gone from not wanting to watch big brother to a bonified addict but are the people at channel 4 having a laugh at our exspense? If Nick is for real why have the other house mates not sussed him out yet? surely they are not that guilable,I thought if anyone would suss him it would be Anna but even she is taken in by him, our only saving grace is the fact that we the general public will definately vote him out in the end so he will not get his mitts on the 70k but as many people have pointed out he is so shrewd he has probably got a number of tabloid journos waiting with bated breath for when he gets out!Does he really believe himself when he says 'I will say it here because they don't film here'When every nasty little lie he has told and deception he has excecuted has been broadcast to the nation...who's the fool?

- 15/08/00 I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that maybe Nick is 'sponsored' by a tabloid newspaper to try and get the inside story for when it's all over. Maybe he's a plant, maybe not, but he's still a prat at the end of the day. And if he's ever been in the TA, I'll give birth to triplets tomorrow!!!! (And THAT'S never going to happen!) |

- 15/08/00 Nick is playing the game (because that is what it is) with quite masterly skill. He obviously did his groundwork before going into the house (rumours of smuggled mobile phone aside).
There was a very telling piece of footage where he confessed to two of the other housemates (Mel & Tom?) that he had been advised "by a so-called friend" to make up the outrageous story about his young wife dying in a car accident. Has Nick been primed by friends/advisors as to how to use all manner of tricks and schemes (dare I say it, mind games) to manipulate not just the other housemates but also the viewing public.
Public hate and anger has been directed quickly and overwhelmingly at Nick although none of the personalities trapped in the house are particularly endearing. I suspect that as the show progresses and without Nick being nominated and therefore immune to the present public hatred, public opinion will swing.
We may surprise ourselves by never voting for Nick as we come to realise that hate and admiration are feelings never that far apart. At the end of the day, are we watching the program more to endure the permanent state of undress of many of the less appealing housemates or the clothed and disguised machinations of the perfidious Nick.
Provided Nick is not exposed as a Channel 4 plant or his "vibrating" mobile phone is not discovered or he cracks under the pressure of the present public hatred (of which he is somehow aware), I can see him walking out the door alone, at the end, to trouser that £70K cheque and millions in TV, newspaper, lecturing and book spinoffs.
