Although I have not been a fanatical watcher of Big Brother I have caught a few episodes and found it fairly entertaining.

This recent media attention about Nick has highlighted a few points and I would like to outline my own particular assesment.

Firstly has anyone noticed any simularities between Nick and a certain charecter from cult book and recent hit film American Psyco, in the book a City trader lives a double life one a fauning yuppie who is desperate to fit in and be liked and the other a vicious and calculating psycopath.

The name of this charecter?? Patrick Bateman!! Any relation to Nick Bateman??

Though Nick replaced the physical killing with a psycological back stabbing there is still the same action going on.

Fact is that Nick not only raised the profile and the attention on Big Brother he also raised Newspaper sales of a particular tabloid who was able to easily delve his secrets and anticpate his moves.

Even the way he was caught is shrouded with mystery, alledgedly Nick has a photographic memory, why then did he need to keep detailed written notes? Why did the person who discovered them turn out to be the two people that Nick was most directly involved with?

Too many questions and not enough answers is what is keeping this soap documentory highbrid alive, my own opinion. Is that it is an excellent experiment in television brilliantly executed.
