Advantages: Easy on the taste buds, and on the eye

Disadvantages: Not so easy on the waistline

The best thing our old Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nigel Lawson, ever did was have a daughter - Nigella. (She is his daughter isn't she?)

While she is incredibly gorgeous, both in looks and manner, she also has a superb way with food. Her appeal lies in her total lack of self-consciousness when dealing with things in the kitchen that might make certain "food snobs" turn in their ovens. She provides a great tip for saving spare wine, for example, by freezing it in bags, but also admits that she even uses the remains from her dinner guests' wine glasses. Delia Smith would rather own up to masturbating than confess to something like that.

The meals Nigella prepares are quick, simple, and (having tried a couple myself) delicious. The one minor problem is the volume of fat that ends up in some of her recipes - but that's not a fault, it's more a matter of conscience (I need to lose weight).

Nigella is a real challenger to the Naked Chef as her approach is not disimillar. I must buy her book "How to Eat".
