Firstly let me start by saying how disgusted I am that this amazing and totally different "soap" has been taken off from its tea-time slot, on ITV1, and now is now to be shown only in its omnibus late night slot, usually Thursdays around 11pm. - Rant now over! Why am I so upset?? Its just a TV programme!! People might say, but these would be people that have not been drawn into this brilliant and querky soap. Night and Day is set around the disappearance of school girl Jane Harper and is based in Thornton street, which is where her family live. It has some well known actors in it such as Glynis Barber, Lesley Joseph, Lysette Anthony and Joe ...  Read the complete review

The first couple of hours home from college in the afternoons are spent in front of the TV, and this is when I saw the adverts for this modern, new "soap-drama". I am not generally a fan of soaps, due to their rather stereotypical layout and lack of originality. But after just the first episode of Night and Day, this was to prove not just a normal soap. Nothing was as it seemed in the Grenwich street the program is based around. Strange camera angles, flash-backs and several seemingly unconnected yet intertwining stories all happening at once. All very, very confusing. Initially the "plot" was based around a 16 year-old girl ...  Read the complete review

Can you remember that at the beginning of the soap there was a chracter called Jane? So far the emotions of all the characters have been based on her. She has effected everybody. Now don't get me wrong, I think its a brillient soap. At the start I thought it was better than Eastenders and Coronation Street, as it was based on characters' emotions, and how they would react to certain situations. It's the fact that they've dragged the story line out too long. The soap has been on our TV's since Christmas, and they're considering axing it, becuse the viewings have plummeted. Where is Jane anyway? and to be honest, do people really care ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Night and Day: A new way for soap..... (442 words)

Night and Day is Granadas latest offering for a brand new soap, and a brand new soap it is. There are currently so many soaps flooding our TV guides you may ask why it was necessary for another to add to the extensive list. Well, this soap is not like the others, there just simply isn't room for another of the same typical soaps that are out there. Night and Day deviates from the 'norm' of the soap genre. It has brought along with it tecniques used in other genres to make it stand out from the crowd. It revolves around six families set in Greenwich, London. As any other soap these families are friendly yet they have their differences and problems. ...  Read the complete review
