The celebs tended to be younger and more current, and therefore limited, for example, the girls of Emerdale versus the boys of Emmerdale, and various other soap stars taking part. Night Fever is a strange programme. It kind of slipped in without much of a fuss, airing at 6pm weekly, but never really got off the ground. This is surprising, as it had good potential with a good host, a decent concept and impressive panel lineups. So what was it and why didn't it really stick around? Of all the rubbish things on television this is the programme that I hate the most, I know that is a bold statement but I can not see any plus points in this programme, not one redeeming feature. I’ll give a quick resume of the show before I give my opinions on why I hate this programme. The basic premise of this show is that two teams one side all female, the other all male (how original), sing songs of popular appeal, which they are judged upon and receive points. That’s basically all there is to it, its just Karioke on television. The first thing that gets on my nerves is that the people involved, the so called ... Read the complete review

A monkey in charge of the scoreboard and Suggs (Madness)in control of the guests - what a finer way to start Saturday night on channel 5 than with celebrity singalongs. Celebs from the lower end of the B - list can be found rehashing classic pop on channel Five early Saturday evening. Sounds appalling I know but it is strangely addictive. The tunes performed are those we all sing along to after a drink or two, I'm talking Dancing Queen, Don't Blame it on the Boogie - you get the picture. It's a boys v girls set up with scores being awarded on individual effort and performance, and some singers are surprizingly good. My reccomendation - open ... Read the complete review

Night Fever is on Channel 5 from 6:50pm til 7:45pm on Saturdays. It is great fun to watch, being light-hearted and especially as it looks as if the people involved are loving every minute too. It is masterfully presented by Madness frontman and long-time stalwart of pop music, Suggs (Graham MacPherson). He is assisted by the rather annoying and squeaky Danielle Nichols of CITV fame. The format of the show is basically a boys versus girls karaoke competition, where teams of often B-rated celebs compete against each other. Occasionally, you get someone interesting, but let's face it, you're more likely to get Kirsten O' Brien from CBBC or ... Read the complete review
