 ... the closing order, the redevelopment of the house and what could happen in the future. Due to this there was an awful lot of padding in the shows which was not necessary. There was aloe repetition about events that happened in previous shows. Are we really that daft not to remember? I do not mind a quick reminder at the beginning of a show but constant references to previous eras was annoying. The six parts was a waste of space. There has been an argument recently that the influx of history programs on television is damming down history. The Channel 4 program No 57, A History of a House is certainly evidence for this argument. I watch a lot of history documentaries and the general premise of this series interested me and could have made a really good television show.
