Now and AgainNewest Review: ... on the New-York sub-way. He leaves behind a wife (Lisa) and a daughter (Heather), with only his old pal Roger, to watch over them,(which he does with varying degrees of sucess)! Fortunately for us, and the American Government, although Michaels' body is mashed, his brain is intact, and finds its' way into the hands of one, Doctor Theo. He creates a super-human body for the brain to ... more |

Clearly one of the 5 better american TV-series ever (and they decide to stop it anyway) - Advantages: Perfectly balanced between Action, Emotion and Humor, Unknown but fantastic cast, So well written every episode is different and can be appreciated from up to 5 characters points of bview - Disadvantages: Has been stop after only one year, The plot would frighten every guy who have a "Six million dollar man" episode, The french title was dumb

Now and Again Now and again it's on the televison. In the Central region, one week it's on, the next week it's off! And very frustrating it is too! I also don't see why it is on so late at night, at 11.30pm. I have to tape it for my children to watch the next day. Anyway, enough of the moaning about t.v scheduling, and on with the praise. For those of you unfamiliar with this American export, it's billed as a sci-fi adventure, but could just as easily pass as comedy, drama or adventure. Each episode is a mish-mash of all of the above with a love-story running through it. Basically, the story revolves around one ... Read the complete review

Now And Again This is definitely one of the best programmes I have ever seen. It is all about an insurance man that is killed in a train accident, but is brought back to life by American scientists working for the Government. They plan to use him as a secret weapon against crime because when they bring him back to life, they insert special drugs into him so he that he can't feel pain and is,therefore, very, very strong. He is looked after by a scientist called Doctor Theo. They become very good friends, beside the fact that he is not allowed to read or watch the television, but worst of all, he is not allowed to contact his wife and ... Read the complete review

Now and again is a a lot different to most sci fi shows because it focus's on the characters more then the actual sci fi element although it cant be said that there are no good special effects in the show, because there are, its just that effects are not the only thing the show is about. You have the John Goodman in a super strong, highly advanced, enhanced body amazing new abilities and senses. It all started when Goodman's character was killed in a train accident but his brain is preserved and entered into the superhuman body, and it builds from there. Goodman finds out what has been done to him but he cannot contact his family or ... Read the complete review

What a refreshing change!!! OK it not exactly on the level in that the hero is a biologically engineered superhuman, but it puts all the classic pieces of a fantastic tv show together. It covers action, sci-fi, romance, drama and comedy all in a perfect balance. The best thing is that there are no aliens or vampires(don't get me wrong I like vampires and aliens). It is straight forward shoot from the hip hero catching the bad guys and trying his best to get back the woman of his dreams. So the storyline Michael Wiseman played by John Goodman intially and then Eric Close for the majority of the series is an honest family man who works for an insurance ... Read the complete review
