Teen Drama Into Their Twenties (One Tree Hill)

Advantages: Usually easy to watch and enjoyable

Disadvantages: The occasional dip in quality

One Tree Hill is a soapy drama about teens turned twenty-something's in the fictional town of Tree Hill. The core five of the cast are half-brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) with a trio of girls; Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush), Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton).

Unfortunately, the quality of the show is much like a yo-yo. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's great, sometimes it's just about bearable. The writing is regularly contradictive but still manages to pull through as entertaining the majority of the time, despite being heavily over the top with teen marriages, teen pregnancies, over successful careers and of course the token teen show love triangle.

The storylines are usually enjoyable, brought to life by the enthusiasm the actors have for the characters that helped make them teen idols. The character of Brooke in particular is a highlight of the show, with Sophia Bush giving the role a brilliant spark and holding chemistry with the rest of the cast; especially Chad Michael Murray with whom she has been romantically entangled both on and off screen.

I recommend anyone to give the show a chance, however it may not be for everyone. It isn't a favourite amongst the critics, despite having lasted into a sixth season and with a seventh possible, but it does have an incredibly loyal fan base which you may decide to become a part of if you watch.
