Advantages: Always full of laughs
Disadvantages: Looks like they will not make any more
Del and Rodney have got to be the most unlikely pairing for brothers around but they really work well together as characters. I can't remember when I started to watch this show. Only that my memories of christmas and the special shows come flooding back. Grandad was the first one to join them in the run down tower block of flats in Peckham. But after a few series he died and was killed off in the show also. Instead from the show when the funeral took place they introduced Uncle Albert who was a long lost relative. I thought this show was a funny one too as it ended up that some cousins who Uncle Albert were living with decided to do a runner and leave him with Del and Rodney as they were fed up with him. Del and Rodney tried to tell him to clear off but didn't have the heart. He is the seaman who has seen all the great wars and everything has happened to him. During one series he fell down a cellar door in the street and Del and Rodney seeing pound signs decided to help him sue but little did they know that whenever he was hard up in the past he would use this little trick to earn money as he could land properly (army training) without hurting himself. My all time favourate scene as is many peoples is the one when Del and Trigger are in a Yuppie bar looking at some girls. Del is tring to act cool and goes to lean on the bar. What he doesn't realise is that the barman has just lifted it up and left it open and he just falls straight through. If you haven't seen that one where have you been? But my main memory of this show is when I was in labour with my son who is now just under four years old. He was due to be born on Christmas day 1996 and I had been in a stop start labour for a week. It was now Christmas Day my due date and come the evening although I was getting regular contractions they were not close enough together and nothing much else was happening. I remember watching the Only
Fools and Horses Christmas special. It was the one where they dressed as Batman and Robin and run into what they thought was a fancy dress party saying dinner dinner dinner batman. However, the man whos party it was had died and it had turned into a wake so everyone else was in morning. It was so funny I didn't know wether to laugh or have a contraction. I ended up going back into hospital not long after the show finished and had my son the next day. What a show. It must go on PLEASE DEL AND RODNEY. I have heard that David Jason has other committments for some time so will not be able to do any more I just hope that they never say never.

- 05/11/00 I like that too savana it's the one where Uncle Albert undoes the wrong chandelier and they are standing beneath the other while it crashes to the floor.
I am glad you like my opinions. Thanks.
sam123 I like Trigger too. You are right I had nearly forgotten about the council woman. And her face when they came running through the mist!

- 04/11/00 Hi Moatymoo, another good opinion. Yes, this is one of the funniest shows - I like the one in the bar, but I also like the one when they are hired to decorate that house, and trying to move the chandeliers. that;s a scream! |
