Advantages: Everything, the funniest show on the planet, the 3 wheeled Reliant Regal Supervan III

Disadvantages: No more episodes for a while, still a final trilogy planned apparently

Tonight a new episode of OFAH was shown which is the first part in a once and for all final trilogy of episodes. The latter 2 parts will be forthcoming in the New Year.

I will do a full write up in due course, needless to say I really enjoyed it, although from a OFAH Bulletin Board I frequent many of the regulars hated it.

I say, it was a success, it was funny, and it worked. It wasn't a classic OFAH, but it was at least 10 times better than any current S(h)itcom is, or is every likely to be.

Highlights of the episode were:

Del and Rodney getting the location of Alberts funeral mixed up and ended up nearly going to the wrong one!

Del and Rodney in Court

Rodney "Russel Crowe" Trotter in his Gladiator uniform, and Cassandra dressed up as Reg Hollins out of the Bill.... ok it wasn't Reg it was one of the Women. Del of course caught them at their spot of roleplay however!

Del going on a gameshow, and using his phone a friend to call Rodney... :-)

Characters
----------

Del Boy -
=======
Very loveable lead character, gets involved in selling dodgy goods that is true. He has a heart of gold though. He has looked after his younger brother Rodney since his 16th birthday (Del's that is, not Rodneys).

Del's Mum died when Rodney was only young - (all odd socks and exczema apparently), his Dad left them to fend for themselves on Del Boys 16th birthday, he even stole his cake!

Rodney
=====
- The plonker, very likeable though he does get himself into trouble at times. He has a criminal record for possession of Rastarfarian Old Holburn and for riding without a crash helmet. Rodney is a bit clever though, he has a GCE in Maths and Art, as well as a D.I.C - Diploma In Computerisation according to Del.

Rodney and Del argue a lot, but they love each other to bits - this show works on more levels than anyother show in my o
pinion.

Grandad
======

Del and Rodneys Grandad played superbly by Lennard Pierce who sadly died before they made the 4th series. Grandad was the one who was constantly shoved into the back of the 3 wheeled van when Rodney and Del would sit in the front. He was also the Wally that unscrewed the wrong bolt and ruined a priceless Louis XIII Chandallier! The funeral for Grandad took place in the episode Strained Relations which introduced a new character...

Uncle Albert
=========

Grandads younger brother Albert. Every ship he has ever been on has been either torpedoed or depth charged - two of them in peace time. Always likes to tell his Grandsons about his days at sea, and during the War. Buster Merryfield did remarkably well in filling the void that was left by Lennards untimely death. Buster himself died sometime ago, may he rest in peace.

Trigger
=====
(The first time you see Trigger he is introduced thus)

Rodney: Why do you call him Trigger, does he carry a gun?
Del: No,.. it's because he looks like a Horse.

Trigger not the brightest of people, it is safe to say. He also has a few criminal tendencies, ie Thieving. He is a brilliant friend to Del, though for the life of him he can't get it out of his head that Del's brother is called Rodney not Dave! He is also a roadsweeper who has the rare distinction of being given a medal for keeping the same broom for a number of years. Though as he does point out it has had many new heads and handles during that period.

Boycie
=====

2nd Hand car salesman who would scalp you if Dandruff had a going rate. Because he is quite well off and lives in a Mock Georgian Mansion, he believes he has the right to look down on everyone. Best remembered for his laugh.

Raquel
=====

First introduced in the episode Dates where she met Del through a dating agency. She left in the same epis
ode after Del found out in the worst of circumstances that she was working as a Kissogram..... returned in probably the best episode, Jolly Boys Outing. She then stayed in the show until the end, having Dels child Damien in the process.

Cassandra
=======

Ambitious career minded lady. Met Rodney in the episode Yuppy Love, after several false starts theystarted living together, and then got married. Then they argued all the time, which resulted in Rodney going to live back with Del and Albert. Became pregnant with Rodneys child but unfortunately suffered a miscarraige.

*********GOD BLESS HOOKYSTREET, LONG LIVE HOOKY STREET***********

Ces't magnifique, OFAH, words can't express what this wonderful show means to me, and all of my friends, but I will never the less attempt to convey how much I love it.

First of all, the script writing is Cushty, a man named John Sullivan writes all of them by himself, he manages to write scripts that convey emotion, and humour, and never does he stray into using foul language that a lot of shows have to use to get laughs.

The characters are breathed life into by the wonderful acting talents of the cast, whereas many shows you can get the feeling the actors are just reading from a script and don't care about the show, in OFAH it's obvious they do care... deeply.

If you talk to many people and ask them for one scene out of Fools and Horses, you will usually be told 2-3 back!

Scenes that stand out for me, include the recently voted best clip ever, where Del falls through a bar hatch that has been opened.

Danger UXD
**********

In which Del gets lumbered with a consignment of self inflating blow up dolls, for bronchial perverts as his brother Rodney states. These Dolls have been wrongly filled with the gas Propane....oops

The Jolly Boys outing
****************

Where Rodney is telling his wife Cas
sandra about how everything Del touches doesn't go wrong, just as he is saying that their coach blows up because of a hooky radio Del had sold the driver - luckily no one was on the coach at the time.

Many other scenes stick in my mind.... the chandallier one, Batman and Robin running down a smoke filled alley way...
