Advantages: Memorable scenes

Disadvantages: More of the same

Only Fools and Horses is my favourite sitcom, which is why I don't want it to return. With the exception of the baby episode in 1991, Fools peaked in 1988/89 with the unforgettable 'Dates' Christmas special (Rodney as James Dean), the superb yuppie series in 1989 and the best episode/feature of them all - the Christmas '89 special, 'The Jolly Boys' Outing'. These are episodes which can be watched over and over again - it was much harder to do this with the last three episodes. For the sake of seeing new material, I wouldn't just want to see more of the same. If the outcome in the final episode is reversed, who would the producers be pleasing - the viewers, the actors or BBC executives?
