I hate this show as its yet another program that draws you in out of voyeurism, hooks you into aspiring to the participant's taste (most often only possible if you have unlimited funds but absolutely no possessions to clutter up the place), or else lets you laugh at other people's lack of taste. Worst of all, in this particular case, is the presenter - young, pretty, slim, and oh my god how smug can you get? Yes I’m a telly addict, and one of the millions in this country who enjoys programmes about DIY and Interior Design although recently, even I, have been getting tired of the endless Changing Rooms and Home Front spin-offs that have been flooding the TV schedules. However, I happen to be moving house in a couple of weeks and so thoughts of how to decorate and design my new home have, of late, been preoccupying me. This is an interesting programme in which each episode centres on one family upgrading their house into the home of their dreams, with a few helpful suggestions from the ever-helpful presenter. Whilst at the same time this is going on the presenter and film crew are also running around the countryside taking a look at other peoples dream homes which vary from the exotic and wonderful to the absolutely terrible. One thing that I have noticed from the programme is that all the homeowners in it appear to be extremely well off.
