Outnumbered

Description: A semi-improvised sitcom based around a young family in London, starring Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner

Newest Review: ... where the parents are outnumbered by thier 3 children. The Mum is played by Claire Skinner (who I have seen before in Life Begins with Caroline Quentin) and the Dad is played by Hugh Dennis (who is also a eam captain on Mock The Week). I have not seen he children (Jake, Ben and Karen) in anything else, and I think that is the beauty of the programme, that the children are just basically ... more

This just happens to be my favourite show on TV, and I am eagerly awaiting series three which is coming back sometime this autumn. Until then I am resigned to watching series one on DVD, which I do alot! Outnumbered is written by Andy Hamilton (who I have seen a few times on Have I got news for you) and Guy Jenkin. They wrote 'Drop the Dead Donkey' together, but this is a bit before my time. The show is based around the Brockman family, where the parents are outnumbered by thier 3 children. The Mum is played by Claire Skinner (who I have seen before in Life Begins with Caroline Quentin) and the Dad is played by Hugh Dennis (who is also a eam captain on Mock ...  Read the complete review

Outnumbered is a British comedy which is shown on BBC 1 and began in August 2007. It is a semi-improvised comedy about the Brockman family, who are mum and Dad - Pete and Sue and their three children - Jake, Ben and Karen. Each show runs for about 30 mins. I love this show, the majority of improvised lines are from the three children who are told the basic plot of a scene but then not given actual lines. These three kids are brilliantly funny and the reactions from Mum and Dad just add that extra spark to this clever, humorous, original and refreshing comedy. I do not have kids but when I am alone with my two nieces I certainly feel outnumbered and ...  Read the complete review

I just love this programme. I only saw the last couple of episodes of the first series which was on after the 10.00pm news on BBC 1 a couple of years ago but, I was soon completely hooked and when the series was repeated I made sure I watched it all. I was really pleased when the second series came out and in fact am now watching the repeats of that, despite having watched it the first time round! For those of you who haven't seen it, Outnumbered is a sitcom based around a couple, Pete and Sue, and their 3 young children aged 5, 7 and 11. The story follows the daily lives of the family as the parents strive to bring up the children in a well balanced way ...  Read the complete review

Whilst waiting for this to come on TV this evening I thought I might as well try to get the show a little bit of publicity that it so definitely deserves as sadly it seems to be a show you either love...or you've never seen. A shame that those that have never seen it haven't given it a go as they would love it's innocent and silly humour, it's simple comedy and the fact the children aren't given lines that fail. Outnumbered is based on a family in London, the Brockman's lead by the father (Hugh Dennis- My Hero, Mock the Week) named Pete and the mother Sue (Claire Skinner-Life Begins, Bridget Jones) with three kids (that are often the source of the funniest ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Outnumbered: Great Comedy (277 words)

Outnumbered is a family comedy program, shown on BBC 1 and sometimes other BBC channel for repeats. I find it brilliant personally, and incredibly well written. What is it about? Like Little Britian? I never really watched or got Little Britian so I will let you answer that one yourselves, however I can say I do love Outnumbered. It is based on a family of 5 - a mum, dad, a 12 year old boy, a younger boy around 7 and a girl around 5. These children appear to rarely go to school, and the comedy is based around the family setup, often one of the kids making a childish, immature comment and the parents picking it up. Acting and Storyline any ...  Read the complete review
