Paul MertonNewest Review: ... morecombe and wise and so on. However, this is not to say his one-off TV series Paul Merton 'the series' is not without its moments. Although some of the sketches border on the absurd and many will fail to appreciate Paul's wacky style of comedy, there are none the less some of the best comedy sketches I have ever seen, and usually within each episode of the series there was at least one piece of truly inspired comic genious. When this started on channel 4 I hadn’t heard of Paul Merton so I tuned in just to see what this was about. I was not disappointed this series was very funny and I haven’t seen it repeated of terrestrial since (Typical). The comedy was very good having never seen Paul before I was a bit dubious to him but that has changed now. I have heard one of the satellite channels is repeating this series but I am not sure which one at the moment. The series many also be available on video but there again I am not sure abut that. ...
