Pokemon:I'd heard stories of this tv series which was based on a Japanese computer game and comic book but had never actually sat down to watch it.
Then one day I was ill in bed and switched on to Sky One's Pokemon Day.Thrill of thrills Sky One had been taken over by Pokemon for at least five hours starting with episode one.....
After I'd heard that catchy theme tune I was hooked!I mean what more can you ask than cute creature,dumb villians and best buddies on an adventure?
Bascially Pokemon is a story about Ash Ketchum,a 12 year old who is given his first Pokemon(the adorable pikachu...thundermouse)so that he can win badges to compete in the Pokemon League.
On his way tothe first Pokemon Gym,where he battles Trainers for the aforementioned badges,he meets Misty,a moody girl(and possible future love interest??)who trains water Pokemon.They continue on collecting Pokemon and making new friends in each episode.
They later meet Brock,a house work obsessed boy who seems to be the "responsible" one!
Each episode is filled with adventure,and of course.....TEAM ROCKET(Jesse,James and Meowth) whos aim is to catch Pikachu!
The series is great because it tells us all to looka after our friends,it has the great team rocket who always end up"blasting off again" and lots of lovable Pokemon.Although it is not well drawn and the script a little dodgy at times,the jokes are funny and the fight scenes are amazing!
After one episode....you wil be hooked,and singing along!
PS.Some episodes are really sad,like one where Ash lets his Butterfree go to find a mate.I cried :(
