Over the years there has been many shows based in and around a high school but none have managed to make me laugh and cry just as hard as Popular. The show only lasted two years, and ended on the most evil cliff-hanger ever, however it was two years of pure joy. The Show Create by Gina Matthews & Ryan Murphy, the show sets around the fictional Kennedy High. The show mainly focuses on two girls, Samantha McPherson and Brooke McQueen who for the past couple of years have hated each other, however they are brought together where their parents get engaged and move into together. I don't know if many of you remember this show but it used to come on Sky One in about 1999/2000 and was also repeated by Channel 5 in about 2003. As is at down to watch the recently publicised first episode of popular I didn't know what to expect. Sure the trailer looked fun, but was it just going to be another teen soap, which I might mention am already an addict of. The thing that separates this from the rest of the Buffy's and Dawson's is that it is actually funny, but then again, why wouldn’t it be with characters such as Nicole (Tammy Lynn Michaels) the blonde slave to popularity, Josh (Bryce Johnson) a guy willing to lose weight by covering himself in cling film and sweating it off, Sugar Daddy (Ron Lester) the BIG rapper and Mary Cherry (Leslie Grossman) the typical rich kid who ...  Read the complete review
