Advantages: Good stories, good monsters, realistic CGI
Disadvantages: High character turnover this series
This is the ITV's TV series that is designed to take you away from Dr Who on a staurday evening!
It is currently in its third series and I am pleased to say that it has managed to retain its quality for the length of the show. I did think when it started that the story probabaly didn't have much further to go but the story writers have been quite clever and they have maanged to expand the plot lines with each series that progresses.
The premise for the series it that holes or 'anomolies' open up in the the present which creates agateway to the past through which dinisuars can pass so we have had everything from sabre tooth tigers and horrible worm like creatures. The team themn have to get the creatures back to their own time through the anomolie before it closes.
There have been quite few character changes in the latest series but a few of the original cast are still present in the form of Hannah Spearitt, (of S Club fame, who plays Abby, Andrew-Lee Potts who plays Connor, and Ben Miller who plays James Lester and the 'baddie' Juliet Aubrey who plays Helen Cutter.
This series isn't too scary for younger children and they will enjoy the creatures that come back. The latest series has had a mythical creature twist which I won't spoil too much but it does shed a totally new light on the George and the Dragon story.
Summary: A good enjoyable series

- 05/06/09 I like this series but can't believe they got rid of the central character. It's just not the same. |
