The Priory

Newest Review: ... the game of an ordinary person at home, also selected at 'random' (who is always in watching 'The Priory' rather than turning off the TV set and doing something less boring instead), running out of their house to perform some culinary challenge (i.e. eating 3 lemons or hamburgers) in 60 seconds. Yes, it's even more boring than it sounds. Shambolic is probably too kind a word for such a terrible concept. I'm not sure whether their 'winning' combination on 'Live & Kicking' actually existed, or whether children just watched it beacuse Open University was on the other side. Either way, hopefu... more

Premium Review The Priory: How Low Can You Go? (514 words)

A new low in TV was set a few years ago when 'The Priory' was first aired. Initially set to be the vehicle of Zoe 'only famous because my Dad is' Ball and an unknown comedian, Jamie 'look how far I've got on so little' Theakston was drafted in at the last minute amid rumours of 'differences' between Ball and the comic. Maybe they should have put the idea to bed there and then. The idea of the programme was to basically to be a 'Live and Kicking' for the older (rather than mature) viewer. Going out at 6pm on a weekday, I think the idea was for the finest purveyors of pop culture to be interviewed live, combed over in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Are you ready for The Priory (611 words)

The Priory is the name of a rehab clinic in Wimbledon, but also the name of a TV programme on Tuesday afternoons at 6pm. The latter is what I am here to tell you about. named after the clinic, the programme lasts for an hour and is hosted live by Jamie Theakston and Zoë Ball. Now regardless of what you might think of the presenters (I do think Jamie is a bit of an annoying twerp) it does take a lot of talent to host a comedy show live, as shown by the failing Big Breakfast. The show is a mix between a chat show and an entertainment show. Celebrity guests are on every week, sometimes they get better guests than others, for example last week they had ...  Read the complete review

Oh my goodness this really is MIND-ROT!! Who in their right mind thought this programme was fit to entertain the great British public, I mean, COME ON Channel 4, you've really let your standards slip with this steaming pile of GARBAGE. Right, now that I've got that off my chest, here's a brief overview, and I mean brief 'cause quite frankly I don't want to waste more of my precious lunch hour that is absoulutely neccessary to get my point across. Take 2 entirely un-endearing presenters, Zoe Ball and Jamie Theakston, who are probably very nice people in reality, but who seem to make me want to shoot myself in the head when I see their ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is this a joke? (468 words)

Somehow, and I don’t know how, The Priory isn’t completely rubbish. I longed to hate it but there is something about it that makes it just about bearable. The pretext to the show: Hey, lets have some ‘wacky’ features, hand out some money and play some good music. TFI you’re thinking. But how about we get rid of that ginger person, Chris something, and put on those talentless two, who became celebrities by presenting children’s TV and going out with people more famous than they are. Eureka! the executives thought, and a few café lattés later they probably constructed the whole show. Zoe Ball has little talent, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Priory: Those two are exceptional (140 words)

Jamie Theakston and Zoë Ball how do they get so much success?? First Live and Kicking now the Priory which is so good because you get to hear about everything that is going on in the world which is good and they do it in a very funny way also the interviews that they do with the celebrities. The people that they have on the show is just uncanny because they get them all from America and lots of other places around the world which when they interview them are very interesting. Also they have challenges, which enable single people or couples to win a holiday to somewhere amazing, or so they say. So I really think that you should try and watch this programme as it will ...  Read the complete review
