Advantages: interesting storylines, good suspense at the end of every episode
Disadvantages: none
A Brilliant TV show which follows the life of two brothers: Michael Schofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). Wrongly accused of a crime he didn't commit, Lincoln gets set up for killing Terrence Steadman (the brother of the vice-president/president of the US), with the group behind the plot having every intention of getting him executed. Sat on death row, his brother Michael (a successful architect who designed the prison walls), gets himself arrested and locked up in the very same prison as his brother. Using his knowledge of the prison, he executes a plan which he came up with before the arrest to break out his brother.
Whilst the story of this breakout is happening, a parallel story is also running showing life outside the prison walls, where Lincoln's former lover and Lawyer Veronica Donovan (Robin Tunney) tries desperately to uncover the conspiracy behind Lincoln's position on death row.
With the blueprints of the jail disguised in a tattoo on his body, Michael attempts to recruit people around the prison to help him and his brother escape, gaining the help of ex mob boss Abruzzi, C-Note, Sucre and T-Bag. Many twists and turns happen throughout the series, with things happening you never would have expected to happen, leaving only the words on your face... "WOW".
Season two moves onto showing the brothers lives after the escape, setting out to find the DB cooper 5 million dollars, where we find a reunion of all the escapees (who have set out on the very same mission). We also start to learn more about the families of the escapees in this series. With the death of Veronica, any evidence the brothers had towards a possible conspiracy theory involving the government had been lost. So they thought, as they found new suspects and further evidence, they start to bring down the government trying to prove Lincoln was innocent, all whilst on the run. Running away to Panama, the brothers escape to pitch a new life, where soon enough, it is series 1 all over again, as Michael this time ends up in Sona (a hellish and deadly Panamanian prison where a previous riot has forced all authority out and has left the prisoners in charge of their own lives); This leading the way for Season 3.
So far in Season 3, we started by watching Michael in his attempts to find Whistler (a mysterious inmate hiding somewhere within the prison walls), who he later learns he has to escape out of the prison with, or face losing his loved ones Sara (Helped with the escape and later fell in love with) and LJ (Lincoln's Son). The company (the group of people behind wanting Whistler out of the prison), make life difficult for the brothers keeping Sara and LJ hostage until the job is done: hand Whistler over to Susan (part of the company) in order to save LJ's life.
My favourite part about Prison break is the way in which, at the end of every single episode, you are leaving wanting to know what happens next, and then having to wait a week before finding out. I love the suspense this creates.
My favourite character from throughout the show has to be Fernando Sucre; I find their to be two sides to him: the loving and caring side he shows towards his family, and then the bad side, which put him in prison in the first place.
The actors who play Michael and Lincoln (Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell) I also find to fit their place very well. However, they are two very different characters whom you wouldn't expect to be brothers in real life: Michael is an intelligent guy who has done very well in his life, whereas Lincoln is kind of the opposite (almost like they have both grown up in different families).
I don't particularly like the character T-Bag, as I find him a creep who would deserve to be in prison for the rest of his life, although he still seems to find a way out in both prison escapes. The actor who plays this character, however, does a very good job in portraying the life of T-Bag.
Another character I liked was Sara Tancredi, particularly because of her history, seeing a side to her which you very much wouldn't expect given her job and her family (i.e. the drugs).
Now I can only wait for next week, for the next chapter in the story.
Summary: Leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat!
