Pushing Daisies. The show that sadly lived up to it's name, and is now pushing daisies. It was axed after just 2 short seasons. OK. I first got into the show after watching the Pilot or Pie-lette, and was instantly hooked. You could describe the show as the TV version of the movie Amelie with a bit of Tim Burton thrown into the mix. It has the same quirky charm, as well as interesting characters and an amazing colour palette. The show is about a man named Ned who has the ability to bring the dead back to life. But there's a twist. He can only keep them alive for 1 minute, and if he keeps them alive for longer then someone else in proximity must die ... Read the complete review

Pushing Daisies is a US show broadcasted on the ABC network during 2007-2009, with 3 episodes from the second season yet to be aired this May. Although short-lived, getting canceled after two seasons of only 22 episodes, the show has received great acclaim coming from both the audience and the critics. The series was created and written by Bryan Fuller, with Lawrence Trilling and Barry Sonnenfeld in charge of the directing. Star Trek geek Bryan Fuller had experienced the cancelling, also after merely two seasons, of two of his past shows, namely Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. That hasn't brought him down, but inspired him to create yet another whimsical TV show. ... Read the complete review

I'm always a bit cynical when I see a show described as quirky, it's very rare that the show really is as quirky as it's made out to be. Pushing Daisies, however most certainly is - a melange of murder mystery, fantasy, drama and black comedy this is about as entertaining as you can get yet the show remains fresh and gentle. Much like Dexter, Ned (Lee Pacer) has special powers to bring someone back to live, unfortunately it's not as simple as that because if he brings back something to life for longer than a minute, something else has to die and if he touches the person or animal ever again, they will die too. Ned, an unassuming pie maker uses his ... Read the complete review

Pushing Daisies is the story of a pie maker called Ned (Lee Pace) who has the ability to make people come back from the dead, with a catch. If Ned brings something back alive for more than exactly one minute, something else will have to die to replace it to keep everything balanced. If he touches the revived being for a second time, it falls dead again, only this time there's no coming back. Things are further complicated for Ned in his childhood when by bringing back his own mother, he accidentally kills the father of his childhood love Charlotte "Chuck" Charles (Anna Friel). It is this time when Ned learns what powers he possesses and it gets worse ... Read the complete review
