Advantages: Refreshingly different, very funny

Disadvantages: None

QI (Quite Interesting) is a British quiz show created and produced by John Lloyd. It has been on our screens since 2003 and has completed 5 series' with more on the way. It is hosted by Stephen Fry and four panelists, three that rotate and one regular, that being Alan Davies. The other panelists are usually comedians, but there have been people from other fields, such as Jeremy Clarkson and Roger McGough.

It is different from many quiz shows in that points aren't necessarily given for correct answers, but for interesting ones. One of the reasons for this is that the questions are so obscure and difficult that hardly anyone will know the answer. Points are taken away for any answer that is regarded as obvious and wrong, such as urban legends etc. This, coupled with the hard questions, has many contestants ending up with negative points.

As the questions as so hard, Stephen Fry has to explain them a lot, and so as well as a very funny quiz you get to learn new things as well. Everyone on the show are very quick-witted so there are lots of jokes on offer and should bring a smile to anyone's face. Stephen Fry is great, he's almost like the headmaster of a unruly class. He has just the right intelligence, pomp and circumstance in order to be the smartest guy in the room but he never comes off as arrogant. He's an absolute national treasure and should be on TV more!

He works well with Alan Davis, who never seems to get many questions right and, more often that not, ends up in last place. He is the perfect counterweight for Stephen Fry, and they work well together.

Overall a fantastic quiz show with endless replay value and damn funny to boot, five stars!

Summary: An amazing different show!
