QI is a TV quiz show which is available UK TV's Dave Channel. (Don't ask me who Dave is as I have yet to work that out.)

QI stands for Quite Interesting, or has been suggested once or twice on the show 'questions impossible'.

The show is hosted by Stephen Fry and there is a panel of celebrities. Alan Davies is always on and he is accompanied by numerous other celebrities from time to time. Phil Jupitus, Rich Hall, Jeremy Clarkson and Rory McGraff have all appeared from time to time.

The gave is question and answer just like most ordinary quizzes but in this one, giving the obvious answer, the generally accepted answer lights up the background screen and flashes up the word which has been used. The panellist then loses points.

This is very entertaining as a comedy show and the very talented Stephen Fry with his razor sharp wit really does an excellent job. The noise each contestant's buzzer makes is also carefully selected. Alan Davies always ends up with a really silly one which he gives approval with his usual cheeky grin.

The scoring of the game is far from fair and Stephen Fry exercises complete autonomy there but it isn't meant to be taken as serious quiz, although the questions are always very interesting. Alan Davies usually ends up with the highest minus score and is the biggest loser, but it is all part of the game.

I really enjoy this quiz show because it is relaxed and different. It is funny and yet it is intelligently delivered, not least because of Stephen Fry. My complaint is that the shows have been run over and over so that I almost remember what comes next now. (That is a common factor with most TV shows now, especially with Sky).

There is an all new version of QI which has just started, called QI XL, so that should be great news for fans.

Personally, I would love to see them make more of these shows and expand QI a bit.

Summary: Excellent entertainment for intelligent viewers.

Great show. I hate when they play Alan's buzzer for the first time and the audience goes into hysterics even if it's not funny.
