Im not really much of a sci-fi fan so when my boyfriend suggested that we watch a few episodes of Quantum Leap together, i have to admit that i wasnt looking forward to it. If you have never heard of Quantum Leap before, it is an American show that was broadcast between 1989 and 1993. It stars the amazing Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. Its unusual for a show to have such a small number of actors but i completely loved it and would now say its one of the best shows ive ever watched. The story centres around Scott Bakulas character Sam Beckett. Sam is a very intelligent scientist who becomes lost in time after leaping into it when an experiment ... Read the complete review

This is a tv show I started watching when I was a teenager. There are 5 series in total and I've just bought them all on dvd and I'm loving watching them again. The story follows Dr Samuel Beckett who has created a time machine that allows the user to travel back and forth through their own lifetime. In order to prove that the machine works he steps into the machine himself and vanishes! When he wakes he finds himself in a body that is not his own and he has lost his memory. That is until Al appears who is an observer from Sam's time who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. Al's job is to help Sam get home and to 'leap'. Sam ... And with this, the time travelling adventures of Dr Sam Beckett begin! The person he leaps into, swaps places with him in the future, but the people around Sam can only see him as the person he has become. As an added problem to Sam on his leaps, the experiment has left him ... Read the complete review

Quantuam Leap is a TV show which started in 1989 & ran until 1993. It starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett & followed his adventures in time. The premise of the show is that Sam believed that he could time travel within his own lifetime. He led a team of scientists in an effort to build a time machine. They succeeded & Sam used the machine to travel back in time. Sam awoke in the past in the body of someone else. He was only able to leap once he had saved the life of the person he was in who was destined to die. Sam then leapt into another person. This is a premise which is explained at the begining of each episode in the following ... Read the complete review

It's never easy for science fiction shows to make the leap into the mainstream, yet Quantum Leap did just that, finding a magic blend of sci-fi, comedy, drama and action which entertained audiences worldwide for five series. Even today, over a decade after the final episode aired, it's still compulsive stuff. The basic plot sees a scientist (Dr Sam Beckett) time travelling (or "leaping") within his own lifetime (mid 1950s to early 2000s). Each episode, he "leaps" into the body of someone and has to put right an event that went wrong and affected the rest of their life. He's helped by Al, who appears as a hologram that only Sam can ...
