Question of Sport, A

Newest Review: ... competitve is something you might expect considering that they were sports players but there is one thing I really wish they stopped doing. Every episode you are bound to get the words "Good shout" when they think the opposing team has come up with a nice answer. It's a small thing I know but it's all the time and not happening only every once and a while. Sue Barker as presenter does an OK job. Obviously being asked to do it because of her being an ex tennis player. I think it's good that they've got a female to host as the majority of the time the two teams are all men. So at least you're getting one woman on the show ... more

A Question of Sport has haunted the Friday night line up for far too long. It's one of those programmes which I have to endure otherwise the channel will be changed and it's likely I'll miss the ones I actually want to watch. It's been going for over 30 years now and has had a number of captains who only seem to stay for a short amount of time. They have also had a number of guest captains including David Seaman, Shane Warne and Michael Owen before settling for Phil Tufnell (Cricket and Strictly Come Dancing) who has been doing it since 2008. The other team has Matt Dawson as captain (Rugby and Strictly Come Dancing) since 2004. I don't dislike ...  Read the complete review

A Question of Sport is currently the longest continuously running game show on television having been around since 1970. I haven't watched it since 1970 as I was not old enough but I have watched it for a while since the late 90's and as a sports fan it is a great show and fun to watch. I do not watch it as much as I used to but still do when I get the chance. The current host is former tennis player and presenter Sue Barker with current team captains Matt Dawson (former England Rugby player) and Phill Tuffnell (former England Cricketer). Each team captain is joined by two different sporting stars each show from a wide range of sports. There are a ...  Read the complete review

**Introduction** I like to think I have a wide range of general knowledge and As a big Sports fan I like to think I know my stuff so I like to challenge myself by watching TV quiz shows and the best Sports quiz on the box is of course A Question of Sport. It is set to celebrate it's 40th Birthday next year and is the longest running quiz show in the United Kingdom if not the World. **History** The first A Question of Sport aired on 5th January 1970 and was hosted by David Vine who later became known for presenting the BBC's coverage of Snooker and Ski Sunday. The first team captains were boxer Henry Cooper and Welsh rugby union star ...  Read the complete review

A Question of Sport has been running on the BBC for what seems like ever and ever, it is a fairy simple sports based quiz that relies on the banter between the two sets of teams. The show is hosted by former tennis player Sue Barker and there are two teams of three sports stars, he two captains stay the same and exch week they have two different team mates from the world of sport. The current captains are Phil Tufnell who was a cricket international as a spin bowler, he has also done some of those reality TV shows like I'm a celebrity get me out of here as he has a reputation for being a bit of a drinker and I think was caught smoking cannabis while still ...  Read the complete review

'A Question of Sport' is definitely the best sports trivia show on television and this is shown by the length of time the show has been running, 38 years; it started back in 1970 believe it or not! Over the years there have been many captains from the sporting world, some better than others. Currently the captains are Matt Dawson the retired England Rugby International and Phil Tuffnell the retired Cricket International. I think these are two of the best captains the show ahs ever had, they both know their sports inside out and are both very funny. Although, saying that Ally McCoist was a fantastic captain - one of the best moments ever on the show was when he failed to ...  Read the complete review
