Advantages: Gives an insight of everyday politcs and people's opinions
Disadvantages: Can be frustrating when arrogant politicians are ignorant
This week's "Question Time" showed that we are a democratic country by allowing the BNP Leader Nick Griffin onto the show and to explain from his pedestal, his antics in the public light and his anti-racism.
Unfortunately it was a shame that all the show had to offer; with the members of the main Conservative, Labour and Liberal having little beneficial solutions themselves to our rapid problem of mass immigration.
It was only Nick Griffin's stupid, arrogant and clueless attitude that showed he himself is unelectable as well as his party. I felt that through his recent and past records of events, someone at the BBC could see that it was time he hanged himself on TV and did the cause for the BNP in democratic terms no good what so ever.
There were valid points he did have in the way that many came into this country and not willing to offer anything in return and live off us the Tax-payers (the state). The main parties had little if any substance in their arguments in reply, but to accuse each other of past and present responsibility to the now uncontrolled immigration. With this situation and Government, I am sure we will be facing an environmental catastrophe in the near future.
Many questions were fired from the audience, many were moved on by David Dimbleby who promised to get back to them, but didn't because they appeared to move away from the BBC's Target "Nick Griffin" who spoke and laughed his way into a corner. Had he more states-man skills he could have got more on his side and built a bigger platform for his party.
The programme is worth watching in general, but can make your blood boil especially when leading politicians are too arrogant to take notice of the public's feelings and in many cases experienced mature peoples advice.
As it was designed for Nick Griffin it would have been interesting to hear what he and the BNP had in mind for Law and Order and our judicial services. I think then, many of the questions may have pointed towards Jack Straw whose record has proved that it is no longer safe to walk the streets. Other topics could have been the economy, environment and health service, naming but a few. I felt this edition didn't get us anywhere but a glorified witch hunt.
Summary: If you want a witch hunt watch this programme

- 26/10/09 I must admit I don't normally watch it all that much, but I did watch this one in full, full marks to Bonnie Greer who showed even the more seasoned politicians how to conduct the debate with dignity even in the company of such a loathsome man |

- 24/10/09 It has been revealed through dispatches that the mas immigration was deliberate by Blair to dilute Tory support in the market towns. |

- 24/10/09 I did watch this and you are totally right. I don't think any relevant points were made other than to pretty much attack Nick Griffin.
I don't get involved with politics much as I think at the moment almost all the parties are as bad as each other but just in different areas.
This has now been shown as votes have increased for the BNP but I think not because those voters totally agree with the BNP policies but more so that they didn't want to vote for the others.
If the BNP are to stand any chance, then they need a leader that is stronger, a better and studier public speaker and also to have no connections at all with racist groups in their past, with what it looks like Nick Griffin had or has.
Anyway, a great review. |
