Advantages: Inspiring and easy entertainment
Disadvantages: I don't have a blow torch!
That music is joining the ranks of the Corrie and Big Brother themes in this household. I remember back in 1994 on maternity leave I discovered the joys of 'tea-time telly' Fern, Ainsley, Brian and Kevin, to name a few. This program grasped the concept of us would be cooks getting some fresh ideas before the supermarket closed. £5 worth of food 30 minutes to cook it, simple idea that works. However, my Mum swears they cheat and know whats in the bag, I wouldn't believe this until a friend got tickets for the filming..and I'm afraid its true, there is a whole team of advisors hiding behind those kitchen worktops! However the good news is that they do actually count the red tomato and green pepper votes, so even though the chefs are awre of whats coming, the final decision is down to the audience. (Mind you anything with liver always seems to lose!) I miss Fern though, I love Ainsley he's good, but Fern has that 'silly bit' gets you giggling when she's playing dumb. Brian Turner is as sarcastic as ever, and James....I still have the video of the Children In Need Full monty!

- 10/10/00 I've given up watching for two reasons. One, Aimsley just doesn't do it for me - too over the top. Second, a friend of mine was actually on the show and was told what to put in his bag which defeated the object for me. Mind you, I do miss James Martin! |

- 02/10/00 While I respect your opinion, mine is that this show out-lived its usefulness years ago. Haven't watched it since C4 put 15-1 on at the (then) same time. |
