Advantages: Good cookery programme

Disadvantages: None really

Ready Steady Cook is on weekdays at 4.30pm on BBC2. It is hosted by Ainsley Harriot, who I must say is much better at it than Fern Britton! Two contestants each get £5, unless it is a gourmet bag then they get £10, to spend on ingredients of their choice. The chef in question then has to decide what to cook assisted by the contestant in 20 minutes. They also have access to a larder filled with more ingredients like herbs, spices, dairy products, fruit, wine etc. At the end the contestant gets to taste their dish and do their ummm and ahhhh bits then the audience vote as to who they think made the best out of their ingredients.

In this new series the two chefs then get shown another bag of ingredients by Ainsley and they get to say what they would create with them, and the audience votes as to whose dish they want to see prepared. This is where Ainsley gets stuck in and helps them and usually ends up doing more than the chef!

I like this programme and it occasionally inspires me to try something new!
