Advantages: Story is so deep!

Disadvantages: No shadows!

This show is still the best CGI animated show for me. CITV started showing this in 94 - and it blew the only other CGI show - Insektors - that I remember out of the water!!
The main characters were Bob, a Guardian of computers from the Super computer. Enzo - a kid sprite with lots of enthusiasm. Dot - Enzo's older sister who owned a cafe. Frisket - Enzo's gigantic Dog. Phong - Keeper of the Mainframe's core. Megabyte - evil virus type - with cool english accent to boot (heh- geddit!?) Hexadecimal - evil witch sister of Megabyte. Hack + Slash - idiot minions of Megabyte.

Ok - plot - this was one of the high points of Reboot. Inside the computer, the citizens of Mainframe were vulnerable to a destructive force called "Games". The "User" was the enemy, and it is Bob's job (along with Enzo, Dot and Co.) to "play" the gamw against the user in order to save the system from a crash - what happens when users win the games..
Within the game, by tapping their icon badge buttons, the characters could "reboot" to be better equipped for the game.. how cool!
ALthough initially there were lots of silly episodes - "Quick stop Megabyte from entering the Game!" or "Oh no Hexadecimal is kidnapping people!" the plot began to thicken in Reboot. The mysterious place known as "The Web" began to bring out evil destructive creatures and a whole host of movie spoofs began to appear in Reboot - X FIles, ALiens, Power Rangers and many other shows were mimicked to a high standard, whilst keeping the goal of defeating the Web creatures a high factor of the show.
I think it was the third series that Bob is actually shot into the Web - quite a lot of tension had been built up to this event - Enzo had become a cadet guardian, and many new characters were introduced to the show - MOuse - an old flame of Bobs and Andrea - a game sprite who somehow got out of the game!

he excitement of this series did not die down after Bob's apparent death. Enzo soon got trapped in a game and grew up. A lot of character development occured and Bob was not as lost as he seemed... STORY!!!!!! is so good!!

Characters - very well designed and dubbed, each plays a significant role in the story, representing various themes, for instance Enzo is like a sign of hope, Andrea - innocence, Bob - Justice.. etc.

The look - The actual look of the show is nice, BUT - there aren't always shadows casted......ARGH! I know its a small thing, but lack of shadows always wound me up...I guess the extra rendering time it woulda taken the computers was not worth it!

As far as I know, CITV never finished showing Reboot. They left us on a cliffhanger - with only 5 episodes to show!!!!! *sob*....
Anyway, this show pioneered CG animation in my opinion. Without it, Toy Story, Final Fantasy et al would never have been as they are. Reboot deserves a place in animation history -so go watch it!!
