The series starred Ian Ogilvy in the lead role of Simon Templar a sort of suave James Bond character who rather than killing blokes with cats actully went around doing good deeds for those in danger, a sort of shining knight of the seventies. Sometimes inertia in an afternoon means that I end up watching some rubbish TV and Return of the Saint fits nicely into that category. This was a series made in the late seventiesas an attempt to revive the successful sixties series and currently you can see old re-runs on ITV 4.
