Advantages: All the action from La Liga, great presenters
Disadvantages: A little bit too much talking
I'm a big fan of the Spanish football and enjoy watching the live games that Sky have on every weekend. Invariably it's Barcelona and Real Madrid, but they often show my adopted Spanish team, Valencia. However, if the Valencia game isn't being showing live, I can catch-up with all the action thanks to Sky's highlights programme Revista de la Liga.
Revista is broadcast every week on a Tuesday night, usually around 6pm with repeats throughout the early hours of the following morning. It's presented by the likeable Mark Bolton who is joined in the studio by Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. The duo discuss the week's events in La Liga and often cross live to Graham Hunter ("our man in Spain") who gives the latest news and rumours from his base in Madrid.
Revista usually opens with the goals from the weekend's matches involving Barcelona and Real Madrid, before we're passed back to the studio for some lengthy analysis - which can sometimes be 25-30 minutes. To be honest, the analysis can be a bit boring and so I'll fast-forward through that onto the rest of the weekend's goals.
After we've seen all the goals, we'll be given a run-down of the latest league table and we're usually treated to an interview with on of La Liga's stars.
To be honest, I can usually get through an hour's programme in around 10 minutes (thanks to Sky+) as I'm only really interested in seeing the goals - unless something extraordinary has happened during the week. Saying that, when I do watch it all the way though, I find the presenters to be very knowledgeable and likeable and it is an interesting programme.
The only way they could improve it in my opinion would be to include the goals from the Segunda Division (Spain's 2nd highest) as well - the more action, the better!
Summary: Perfect for anyone who loves Spanish football
