Advantages: Pundits, It's La Liga, Good discussions

Disadvantages: Scores before highlights are shown

Revista de la Liga is Sky Sports Spanish football highlights show, which is really more of a Spanish football discussion show than a highlights show.
I say this because, unlike Match of the Day on the BBC where the highlights are shown then there is a 5 minute or so analysis on the game, on Revista they quickly go through the goals (very little other highlights) then don't really analyse the performance, but more talk about what's going on in general with the team and the overall club.

The show is dominated mainly by Real Madrid and Barcelona, with the other clubs not really getting a look in (Valencia & Atletico get a mention usually because there in some kind of turmoil). Over the course of the show (1 hour) about 30-40 is about Madrid & Barca - I'm a Barca fan so I'm not complaining.

The show is hosted by Mark Bolton and he is almost always joined by Guillem Balague, the likeable Spanish pundit on the show. Other guests in the studio regularly include Albert Ferrer, Gerry Armstrong & Graham Hunter, although the latter usually appears via a TV link. Guillem and Graham are generally the most knowledgeable on the show and regualrly talk about how they were talking to so and so in a cafe in Spain. Mark Bolton prbes them for answers and occasianlly puts his own input in (to me GH looks disgusted when Mark starts to talk).

If you're into Spanish football then this is a must watch. The only thing I don't really like about the show is that they tell you the scores before the highlights are shown, other than that I look forward to watching it every Tuesday.

Apart from the discussion and highlights there is also a few other parts to the show which include :

Guapa - the best pieces of skill from the weekends fixtures, or "class on grass".

Interview - there is usually an interview with one of the players playing in La Liga

Prize Giveaway - you can win signed football memorabilia by answering a multiple choice question (about players from La Liga or Spanish internationalists)

Summary: Worth watching 10/10

Balague may well be the best football pundit on the box.
