Description: Channel 4's new breakfast show

Newest Review: ... I'm eating my toast and getting dressed. Rise has the following features: REALITY TV Rise has a bit of an obsession with reality TV. At the moment they have a reality TV 'monitor geek' called Kitty who talks about what is going on with the salon, fame academy (when it was on) and pop idols. When Big Brother was on they were very in to that and the big brother people seemed to ... more

... take root on the rise sofa of a morning. So I didn't really need to watch any reality TV, I just hear about it on Rise. Not that I fancy watching people sing or cut hair, Big Brother is my only real reality TV indulgence. They tend to have a lot of po...more

Hurray for Rise! (on weekdays 6.55am to 9am) Unfortunately this great morning show is finishing mid December, so I will have to make the most of it whilst I can. So why do I think its so good? I've never really been one for morning TV in the past, I was never that keen on big breakfast or gmtv and BBC1 morning TV is far too intellectual for me before the hour of 8am. A couple of months ago our video clock broke so to tell the time in the morning I would turn on the tv to see the time on teletext and ended up flicking the channels. Rise is presented by the very funny Iain Lee, who used to present the eleven o'clock show and Kate Lawler the winner of BB3. ...  Read the complete review

I have recently decided to watch RI:SE in the mornings so that I can keep up with the latest big brother news. That is the main attraction of the programme. The presenters, Ian and Kate(previous winner of Big Brother.) Do an alright job. Kate tries to lead Ian who sometimes gets a bit carried away. However I believe that Ian is great, a comic genius. Watching Ian in the mornings is much funnier that facing GMTV or BBC BREAKFAST. Mel and Sue presented the final half hour but are temporarilly not working for RI:SE. At the moment the main topic which RI:SE deals with is Big Brother. They have regular appearances from the BB contestants and a regular slot from there ...  Read the complete review

When I heard that the Big Breakfast was being taken off air I was absolutely devastated. This is for many reasons 1) I once appeared on the big breakfast to sing!!! (My fifteen minutes of fame!!) 2) It was slightly crude and cheeky humour at an early hour of the morning which woke me right up and made me laugh on the way to school! So when ri:se started showing I felt I must watch and see if it had anything on The Big Breakfast. Guess what? It hadn?t Introduction- RI:SE runs from 6:55 a.m until 9:00 a.m each weekday. It is presented by Mark, Edith, Colin, Kirsty, Chris, Liz and Henry. It has a continuous screen of news running across the bottom of the screen ...  Read the complete review

A slot that has seen more changes than anything is the Channel Four Breakfast Porgramme struggle. Big Breakfast use to repersent Channel Four for Breakfast Porgramming and was quite popular but then the days cam and people where losing intrest as better breakfast pogrammes where broadcast on other TV Channels Then Earlier in 2002, Saw the axing of the ever so popular The Big Breakfast came Channel Fours new Breakfast Show Rise. It shows that Channel Four can broadcast a good show following from their excellent range of other porgrammes. There are a good selected funny, ...  Read the complete review

Ever since RI:SE replaced The Big Breakfast as the Channel 4 Early Morning show, I have been tempted to write an op. So this week, I sat down, determined to watch an entire show. And I admit it, I only lasted 20 minutes. However, in my brief glimpses into this dire broadcasting travesty, I feel able to draw a few conclusions... RI:SE seems to be unaware of either it's target audience or the general feel of the show. I'm guessing it, like Big Breakfast, is aimed at the "Young Adult" sector - which suggests that, like Big Breakfast, it should be bright, colourful, improvised, occasionally humorous, and easy to digest. Not a ...  Read the complete review
