Newest Review: ... innocent people get picked on in the show by the cops at times. Seen also some very bad car accidents so it can freak you out watching this show. It has changed my opinion on the police because it shows how hard their job is. Road Wars provides plenty of entertainment with all the excitement of the police chasing people around. Those who like watching the cops chasing people around with some ... more

Certainly one of the best TV shows on right now is Road Wars. It is about the Thames Valley Police and how they cope with real life problems on the street with criminals and suspects. Other things seen in the show are dangerous drivers and a lot of road accidents. The police have their own unique footage with a camera man along their side recording what happens. There are plenty of funny moments in the show with how some people respond to the cops chasing them or questioning them. It just really gives you a insight into how the police work and how they deal with criminals. Seen some innocent people get picked on in the show by the cops at times. ...  Read the complete review

Road Wars follows police forces out on the beat in their patrol cars & the various criminal & other character they encounter along the way. It's shown on Sky 1, with the show now also been broadcast in high definition on satellite platforms. If you miss the show on Sky 1, it is repeated regularly on Sky 2 as well as older episodes being shown on Sky 3. Since the show began in 2006, it has followed the Thames Valley Police force. I think it is really good that they have decided to concentrate on one particular force as you get to know the officers involves & their varying approaches in dealing with the situations they encounter. In 2009, the show ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Road Wars: See criminals at their funniest (238 words)

This show was gold, i don't think i've seen a new series of this but it hasn't been regularly on since 2006 ish), this show followed police around the UK and basically arresting people and cracking crime. The crimes are relatively small at times, like shoplifting, cannabis possession etc. Nothing like murders or stabbings, but this made for some great TV at times. My highlights were always the drunken fools the police tried to cope with behind the wheel and some the excuses that were used, "Nah i'm just tired" as to why they were driving badly, really funny stuff. The cameras caught each police force in couples and filmed in their day to day work, ...  Read the complete review

Road Wars follows an elite unit of Thames Valley Police, showing police footage of some of the most dangerous car chases ever caught on camera. They show a side to the police that is often overlooked by the general public and is a very educational television programme if you like to learn about the police force and about how they work. They show what happens both from the police cars and what can be seen by the helicopters which help the police out when the vehicle involved in the chase is either going to quickly for the vehicles on the ground to keep up with or if the people in the vehicle bail out and try and hide. Thermal imaging cameras are often used in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Road Wars - Elite TV (277 words)

Rating:

Road Wars is one of the first programmes that BSkyB commissioned for their own leading channel, Sky 1, instead of purchasing already made programmes. What the proramme entails is a camera man following a police activity in a police car. Previously this was with the Thames Valley Pro - Actice unit, that was made up of mainly road policing personel, meaning they are pursuit trained (so car chases), but they also focus on preventing crime and pro actively do this. Although in the current series, the action has been moved from the Thames Valley Police area to Cornwall, that focus on road policing and Kanine units. Although the main focus on the ...  Read the complete review
