I absolutley adore the current TV adaption of 'Robin Hood'! Personally, i have always been fascinated by the allure of Robin Hood, the outlaws and the 'evil' Sheriff of Nottingham along with his side-kick Guy of Gisbourne. My dad used to take me to Sherwood Forest when i was younger, and i was just mesmerised by the whole idea of the story. I have watched this adaptation from the first series. Robin (Robin of Locksley) and Much return home from fighting in the crusades with King Richard. When they return home they find that Robin's father has been killed, the village of Locksley has been 'taken over' by the Sheriff and Guy of Gisbourne and that the Sheriff ... Everybody has heard of the triumphant tales of Robin Hood and his band of merry men. So, looking for another Saturday tea time drama to replace Dr. Who when it was being filmed, the BBC decided to give the green light to a modern version of the popular folk stories. Series one began in the October of 2006 with a third series due to begin in the early spring of 2009. Essentially, it's important to remember that Robin Hood was never going to be a sophisticated, overly complicated drama; due to its early evening scheduling, with much of this appeal being for the benefit of children, it was very much going to work of the premise of good vs evil, with the title ... This TV series is unsurprisingly a take on the classic tale of the outlaw Robin Hood and his band of merry men. If you're looking for realism or a gritty drama then this isn't the show for you, what you'll get is an often light hearted humorous programme that occasionally surprises by adding in depth and drama. The lead role is played by the previously little known actor Jonas Armstrong. He's a fairly young, moral and charming character in this version of the story; as always stealing from the rich in order to give to the poor while teasing and flirting with Maid Marian. Lucy Griffiths has the honour of portraying the principle Lady of the story, she ... Read the complete review

There have been two series of the "new" Robin hood now. And from the start, i was hooked. Ok so it may not follow the legends Exactly to the point, and i don't think that Robin ever wore a hoodie, but the fact remains that it is an excelent drama. The storyline is pretty obvious. Robin comes back from the holy land, to find that his land etc etc has been taken by the evil sheriff, whom you can love to hate, and the slimy Guy of gisborne, who is also trying to court the beautiful, and clever maid marion, Robins sweetheart. Robin is outlawed, and joines a local gang, becoming their leader. I won't give any spoilers to people who have not seen the second series, ... Read the complete review

I was a tomboy when I was little, an overactive imagination and too many adventure story books had me tearing up and down the garden with anyone I could convince to come along, or on my own if no one would. Robin Hood was one of my favourite stories, a den in the woods, a gang of like-minded rogues, swashbuckling adventure and bows and arrows, honestly what more could you want? My favourite film when I was young was prince of thieves, and when I heard the BBC would be making a new Robin Hood I was very excited, after all, I thought, its about time we had a new Robin Hood, and since this is a series we can meet all the characters that had to be ...
