Rock Profile

Newest Review: ... funny. The show mainly consists of only Matt (George Dawes from Shooting Stars), Dave (Attachments, Cruise of the Gods etc) and Jamie (The Priory etc). Some episodes have extras if there are more than two members of a band, i.e Duran Duran (Duran) and the Bee Gees. Jamie Theakston is a good presenter for this type of show. He himself gets in on the humour, but not as well as Matt and Dave. As with most other things, I have a couple of favourite episodes. The ones with Shaun Ryder & Bez, and the one with Blur. The gags are very original, funny and different to any other. Again, the answers to the questions in these two just c... more

I first stumbled across Rock Profile one afternoon on Play UK. I had vaguely heard of it but never took an interest. I left it on and found it to be quite amusing. The way Matt Lucas and David Walliams portray their popstars is Pure Genius. They are hardly impressionists, but the quick gags and answers to the questions Jamie Theakston gives, I found, are very funny. Premium Review My Favourite Program! (330 words)

Rock profile has to be one of the funniest programs of recent years. Starring Matt Lucas (of Shooting Stars’ George Dawes fame) and David Walliams, and featuring Jamie Theakston in a familiar role, the three send up famous (and sometimes infamous) rock and pop stars form past and present. In the show, Matt and David dress up as their target and Jamie Theakston interviews them in their characters. In my favourite episode, Matt is Gary Barlow (from Take That ) and David is Howard Donald (the one with the horrible dreadlocks!). Barlow is trying to organise a Take That reunion from his home in the YMCA in Coventry, but no one turns up apart from loser Howard ...  Read the complete review

Rock Profile is a half hour programme shown currently on UK Play starring Jamie Theakston, Matt 'George Dawes' Lucas and Dave Walliams. It comprises Jamie interviewing rock stars from a band. For this opinion i will use the episode with 'Steps' as an example. Jamie met the blokes from Steps in an art gallery to see their art. 'H' was dressed in blue and 'Lee' was wearing red. It was then found out that they wore a different colour each day and they had mixed up the days. The interview is broken up with videos from the band. The videos shown are the real ones sent out for promotion but they are given the Pop Up Video treatment. ...  Read the complete review
