... L Word" ran for 6 series between 2004 and 2009. It is currently shown on the Living TV channels but box sets of each series are available. A spin-off show featured in a women s prison was piloted but never picked up. The show followed a group of women who live in the West Hollywood (or WeHo) part of Los Angeles, who are predominantly lesbians. It is centred around a group of very successful women, primarily Lesbian and their ever interlinking love lives. The first series centres largely around Bette and Tina, a couple who are trying for a baby. ... the L Word came out, roughly 5 years ago now, it was a new revelation in tv shows, a show which on the surface is about lesbians, however it goes much deeper than that. It shows the struggles everyone has in relationships, life, friendships, birth, death. This show is a cutting edge series that tackles real life situations and portrays them in such an imapctive way, you wont want to turn it off. In fact the series actually becomes addictive and you get caught up in the characters themselves as if they are part of your own life.
