I'd seen Ross Kemp on Gangs (RKOG) advertised on Sky a couple of years ago, but recognising him as "that guy off Eastenders" I steered clear (I can't stand Eastenders). However, lately I've been left to my own devices with the TV and flicking through, I've seen a couple of Kemp's programmes and I must admit, they're gripping TV and I actually really like the guy. The first thing I noticed about Kemp is how posh and softly-spoken he really is - not how I thought he'd speak with the bald head and the image that he has. Ross Kemp on gangs is a TV series orginally broadcast on Sky before being repeated on terrestrial TV. It is a series of real life documentaries filmed in many countries, focusing on Ross Kemps efforts to track down and find out the truth about gang culture in the modern day. This is one of Ross Kemp's many projects since he has left his character Grant Mitchell behind in Eastenders. However to make this TV series successful he has had to play on a little bit of the hardman image he had before. The thing that strikes me about this series is how 'real' it is. It doesn't appear to be staged or dramatised. You follow a very real curiousity from Ross Kemp as the ... Read the complete review

Ross Kemp on gangs is a Bafta winning documentary series that is aired on Sky One. The series follows former eastenders star Ross Kemp who previously played grant Mitchell in the television soap. Ross Kemp travels with a camera crew around the world, interviewing and speaking to gangs and those affected by gang violence. This documentary certainly excels in accessing an aspect of criminal life that is very hard to see. Interesting as criminal as the acts are, gangs often have quite legitimate political motivations. At present there are four series. Each consist of around four episodes and last for approximately one hour including advertisements. Episodes ... Read the complete review

Ross Kemp on Gangs is the Sky1 BAFTA award winning documentary series. During the four series' this show has explored the gang culture in many countries and cities including Jamaica, El Salvador, East Timor, London and Liverpool. For me this series was quite an eye opener on how bad the gang situation is and also the different gangs that operate around the world including the Neo Nazi Gangs of Moscow and Poland, the Roma pick pocketing gangs operating in London from Bulgaria and the teenage gangs in Liverpool and London of which have produced many young victims of murder including Rhys Jones and Billy Cox. I find this show informative and interesting as it also shows was ... Read the complete review
