Advantages: Great for teenage girls
Disadvantages: Limited for everyone else
Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a very popular kids' drama series that aired originally in the US before flying over the pond to the UK and becoming a success, making a teenage star out of its lead actress, the teenage Melissa Joan Hart.
The show featured Hart as Sabrina, a girl just like any other, apart from the fact that she was a witch. She lived with her two aunts, Zelda and Hilda, also witches, and tried to live the life of a regular US girl, going to school, enjoying shopping, having crushes on boys, etc. The only problem was that she kept getting herself into tricky situations by thinking that using her magic would help. Invariably, it would cause more problems than it would solve, and Sabrina would come close to being found out as a witch, or getting into trouble at school or with her aunts.
Harvey was the other main character, and he and Sabrina had a 'will they won't they?' scenario for the duration of the show. The star of the show in the comedy stakes, though, was undoubtedly the black cat that lived in the house with Sabrina and her aunts, Salem. He stole the show in terms of comedy with his one-liners. A well trained 'acting' cat indeed!
Sabrina was a highly popular show, particularly for teenage girls, its intended viewing target. I found it to be well made, and although I couldn't relate to it so much due tobeing male, I still watched it every now and then for the entertainment value. A thumbs up from me, and worth a watch if they show reruns.
Summary: Great US show for teenage girls

- 20/11/08 My only complaint is they only ever showed the 1st 3 seasons on normal telly. If you want to see more you have to get cable for Nickleodeon.
I actually liked her friends more than I liked her. And a major crush on the one of the aunts ;-) |

- 10/11/08 I loved Sabrina, it wasn't as good when she went to college though. It was very funny and the first few seasons were brilliant. |
